We have been retained by a well-established, financially strong, non-profit hospice to recruit a Hospice/Palliative Medicine physician.  Our client is only 1 of 2 programs in the state of Florida to receive the 2018 Hospice Honors Elite Award (65 programs in total are recognized nationwide).

This role will work in Melbourne and South Brevard County.  This is an interesting opportunity for a HPM physician to be able to have a really good work life balance and design their practice around their interests as our client has inpatient, hospital, pediatric, outpatient and home/facility based Palliative and Hospice care. 

Unique features — this is a nonprofit that truly values their physicians and empowers them to practice medicine and be at the bedside leading the interdisciplinary teams, not just signing orders or punching a clock.  Quality of life is tremendously important, as is having a cadre of highly trained and engaged physicians who care about the work that they are privileged to be able to do. 

Client is very supportive and encouraging and there is a full team dedicated to supporting the physician as a true care team leader.  This is not a typical HPM job in that physicians are not contract workers and are not expected to tow the line and practice cookie cutter commercialized medicine with a one size fits all approach.  They can do what is right for their patients, and focus on being a supportive uplifting member of our community.   

The new physician’s practice could be modeled around his/her specific practice interests.  Brevard County has excellent public schools including 2 of the top 50 high schools in the country and is on the coast of Florida so outdoor activities abound in all 4 seasons.  It’s also home to a booming economy around the Space industry as home of Space X and Blue Sky as well as Space Command for the military Space wing.  Walt Disney World is 45 minutes away, as is MCO airport.
