Medical Director, PACE Program (LIFE Program) – Pittsburgh, PA

The Murphey Group, Inc. has been retained to recruit a Medical Director for a not-for-profit PACE Program (LIFE Program) in Pittsburgh, PA.

This role will spend approximately 50% of the time administratively and 50% of the time clinically at the PACE Center.

Current enrollment for the PACE program is 630 participants across 5 sites.  We are seeking a physician with clinical experience seeing frail/elderly patients.  Priority management/supervisory experience is required.  This role will supervise/lead a team of Physicians, Mid-Level Providers and other clinical professional staff.

What is PACE?

PACE (Program of All Inclusive Care for the Elderly) is a program for frail/elderly recipients who have been determined to need “nursing facility level of care” but wish to remain in their home and community as long as possible. Value of PACE: using a capitated payment system, PACE programs are able to provide the entire continuum of care and services to older adults with chronic care needs while maintaining their independence at home for as long as possible.  Each PACE Program is comprised of an Interdisciplinary Team of health professionals working together to provide comprehensive care for PACE participants.

Hospice Chief Medical Officer – East Coast of Florida

We have been retained by a well-established, financially strong, non-profit hospice to recruit a Chief Medical Officer.

Reporting to the CEO, the CMO:
· Has overall responsibility for the medical services, overall medical, clinical and administrative components, and assists with management of regulatory agreements, credentialing, contracts and licensures for the entire organization.
· Responsibilities include involvement in strategic planning, oversight of medical quality and credentialing, active participation in quality assurance and process improvement (QAPI), and utilization review.
· As appropriate, the CMO will also participate in IDT meetings as a team physician, providing care and medical oversight for hospice and palliative care patients, and participating in the scheduled call rotation of the medical staff, as required.

This role will spend approximately 40% of the time administratively and 60% of the time clinically at the PACE Center.

Current enrollment for the PACE program is 220 participants.  We are seeking a physician with clinical experience seeing frail/elderly patients and we are searching for a person who has worked in an IDT/team based model of care setting.

Medical Director of Living Donor Program/Transplant Nephrologist – Erie, PA

UPMC Hamot in Erie, PA has an opportunity for a Medical Director/Transplant Nephrologist to join their expanding Kidney Transplant Program.  Responsibilities and call will be shared with at least one other Transplant Nephrologist and community nephrologists.

Successful candidate will be Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Board Eligible/Board Certified in Nephrology and completed a fellowship in Transplant Nephrology approved by the American Society of Transplant. An Academic Appointment is available with University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

UPMC’s world-class kidney transplantation program is now available at UPMC Hamot. Because UPMC Hamot works closely with the UPMC Kidney and Pancreas Transplant Program of the Thomas E. Starzl Transplantation Institute, patients who seek kidney transplantation services at UPMC Hamot can expect the same level of care offered by some of the leading transplant experts in the world.

Primary Duties:

  • Execution of medical aspects of pre and post-transplantation care of kidney transplant candidates/recipients, both inpatient and outpatient. This would include the management of these patients, pre and post-transplant, and the monitoring of their outcomes.
  • Execution of the medical aspects of the living donor program including pre and post care of living kidney donors. This would include the management of these donors inpatient and outpatient.
  • Engage the local and regional communities through outreach activities to foster relationships and referrals.
  • Active participation in the Transplant Patient Safety Council which provides oversight to the Transplant Specific Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) Program in accordance with all applicable CMS regulations.
  • Collaboration with Transplant Administration on the operations of the kidney transplant program including clinical workflows and all applicable UNOS Bylaws and policies. Monitors compliance rates and implements plans of corrections to address any areas < 95%.
